About Me
I am currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science at University of Neuchatel. My research interests revolve around privacy enhancing technologies, and in particular how we can leverage trusted hardware to improve database encryption and security in general. Feel free to write at louis.vialar@unine.ch.
Before pursuing this PhD, I was working at a software consultancy, developping web applications for various clients. I am still doing some work for them occasionnally. Before that, I worked for the Kudelski Security company as a trainee then as a prototyping engineer.
I obtained a MSc in Computer Science from EPFL in Lausanne.
In the past, I’ve been somewhat known in the french-speaking Minecraft community, for my involvement with the SamaGames and Epicube multiplayer minigames servers. I was one of the co-creators of the UHCRun game, which was for a long time the most played game on these two servers and was very popular among both players and YouTubers. I also did more “underground” work, for example on the “protocol hack” (a translation layer for packets from one version of the game to another) or on the intercommunication of the multiple components (game servers, hubs, proxies, …) of the Epicube network.
